Stage Gems Performing Arts Covid-19

STAGE GEMS take health and safety seriously. In light of the current outbreak of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) we have put together some information, all of which is based on Public Health England advice.
STAGE GEMS have put stringent measures in place to ensure your children can continue to enjoy their sessions with us in a safe environment. We believe these measures should give parents the assurances you need to continue booking your children sessions with us.
Following the recent update and government guidance published we are now following guidelines from the goverment for our after school sessions. https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/protective-measures-for-holiday-or-after-school-clubs-and-other-out-of-school-settings-for-children-during-the-coronavirus-covid-19-outbreak/protective-measures-for-out-of-school-settings-during-the-coronavirus-covid-19-outbreak
Keeping inline with government guidance our numbers will be capped at 15 children per class.

STAGE GEMS will ensure everyone has fun whilst effectively administering the most up-to-date health and safety guidelines. We would like to reassure you that if your child comes down with COVID 19 symptoms and cannot attend our classes we will offer a full refund.
Below are some of the measures we’ve put in place to keep your child safe. Feel free to contact Emma if you have any questions.
1. All of the STAGE GEMS staff members and chaparones are fully enhanced DBS checked.

2. Groups/bubbles/classes will be capped at a maximum of 15 children.

3. Parents/guardians will not be allowed into classes, they are to drop children off at the front door of the venue.

4. Drop off and pick ups will take place outside the main entrance of our venue for a socially distanced face-to-face handover without the need for parents or guardians to enter the venue.

5. To reduce contact when dropping off and picking up we ask if this can be limited to one parent or guardian.

6. Parents and guardians are asked to not gather at entrance of the venue. We encourage parents to leave swiftly after dropping their child and picking them up.
7. Children will be positioned at the required 2 metre social distance from others throughout the lessons on spot markers and we will do our best to maintain a 2 metre distance during our sessions.
8. There will be no contact or direct hand-holding activities.
9. We will keep a continuous fresh airflow whilst doing any indoor activities doors and windows open where possible.
10.Venues will have been cleaned thoroughly before classes start.
11.Children will be asked to sanitize their hands before entering our classes.
12.Hand sanitizer will be available at all times and hand washing will take place throughout the day during our school holiday clubs.
13.Surfaces and touch hotspots will be regularly cleaned with disinfectant sprays.
14.Children can bring their own water bottle and nut-free snacks if they attend 2 hour classes.

15.Children will be reminded not to share food or drink with anyone.
16.Children will be given regular reminders to build awareness of good hand washing technique, the need to increase hand washing frequency and to avoid touching their faces.
17.We will promote the ‘catch it, bin it, kill it’ approach and encourage everyone to bring tissues in with them each day.
18.Protective gloves and face masks/face shields will be available to our tutors if required.
All staff will wear gloves and masks when administering first aid.
19.Anyone displaying Coronavirus symptoms will be sent home and asked not to come to a STAGE GEMS session until they have met the latest government self isolation or testing requirements.
20. We understand the government advice is to self-isolate for 10 days and arrange to have a test. This can be done by visiting NHS.UK to arrange or contact NHS 119 via telephone. Fellow household members should self-isolate for 14 days.
21.Staff will need to complete a Health Screen Questionnaire declaring if they have been in contact with anyone infected with COVID-19 within the last 14 days.
What we will do if someone develops symptoms during the session? If anyone becomes unwell or develops any symptoms of COVID-19 during the session, they should be sent home and advised to follow the staying at home guidance. If a child is awaiting collection, they will be moved, if possible and if appropriate, to a space where they can be isolated from everyone else. We will be mindful of individual children’s needs – for example it would not be appropriate for younger children to be alone without adult supervision. The member of staff supervising the child will wear PPE and the area will be deep cleaned once the child has been collected. If they need to go to the bathroom while waiting to be collected, they will use a separate bathroom if possible. The bathroom will be cleaned and disinfected using standard cleaning products before being used by anyone else. If they need clinical advice, they (staff member, parent or guardian) should go online to NHS 111 (or call 111 if they don’t have internet access). In an emergency, call 999 if they are seriously ill or injured or their life is at risk. Do not visit the GP, pharmacy, urgent care centre or a hospital. If a member of staff has helped someone who was taken unwell COVID-19 symptoms, they do not need to go home unless they develop symptoms themselves. They should wash their hands thoroughly for 20 seconds after any contact with someone who is unwell and remove and dispose of their PPE.
